The upgrade to GoToSocial v0.22.1 will begin shortly.
- Plan in place - I have a plan for how to conduct this upgrade and expect to take the instance down in 30 minutes.

- Making backup - The instance has been taken down and I am backing up the database. While waiting, I’m updating the instance configuration to what the new version needs.

- Starting migration - GoToSocial will now begin the actual migration process. This will take a long time.

- Breakfast is delicious - I’m having breakfast while waiting. I have a fresh curry puff! Pretty tasty. I’m also about to taste-test the soybean and chili pepper hummus I experimented with making last night.

- Migration halfway complete - The logs indicate being halfway 50% with what I believe is the longest migration action.

- Going to lunch - I am going to go eat lunch. The instance may come back up while I’m out, in which case there will be a little bit of uptime before I take it back down to do some quick database maintenance. (We’re currently sitting at 80% completion on the migration.)

- Migration finished - The main migration has just finished and the instance is back up! I will be taking it back down in a few minutes to do some last database maintenance, which will probably take somewhere around fifteen minutes.

- Database maintenance started - Giving the Postgres database some love to make sure it keeps running smoothly after such a big change. I’m guessing at 15 minutes but we’ll see. It’s worth the time, I promise.
